Vincent isn't quite as tall as an Archangel probably should be, standing at a height of a little less than 6'0, nor does he seem to be as well-muscled as most of his peers (but he wears suits most of the time so it's hard to tell just how much muscle he really has). At any rate, he doesn't strike anyone as the male bodybuilder type. He's not handsome in any way and looks more like one of those guys who lives in their parents' basement... Or at least that's what you'd think up until he starts smacking your head against a wall. His hair is black, his eyes are brown, and honesty? He's plain enough to be just another face in the crowd... Which is kinda what he's going for.

His wings closely resemble that of an average crow with a bit of a grayish tinge to the feathers, making them more dull than sleek. They're kinda ruffled and unkempt, but they're strong and the thirteen-foot wingspan allows him to glide if he has to.

Surprisingly enough, Vincent is a people person, which is really odd for an Archangel. He can form relationships with people fairly well and actually has a very close-knit circle of friends he deals with on a regular basis. Sometimes when he's not on a hunt, he even spares some time to go out drinking with his buddies. However, once the hunter's instincts kick in, he is a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to demons, he is aggressive, violent, vindictive, and absolutely merciless, although he never attacks a demon unless they actually give him reason to. He has scruples, dammit. Those scruples also prevent him from ever hurting a human even if they're working for a demon (they don't prevent him from having someone else hurt said human, however). He's not exceptionally bright, but far from being stupid... He just kinda misses the bigger picture a lot.

All in all, Vincent's a friendly, jovial guy around most people... Also he has an extremely innate sense of chivalry so anyone picking on little girls? Makes him very, very cross. And you don't want to see him cross.

Three hundred years ago, there was this guy. You don't really need to know the details about what sort of things this guy went through- it was nothing too traumatic, unless you count the sudden arrival of wings and a need to hunt demons traumatic. Anyway, this guy pretty much worked his way through the ranks of Archangels to become One of the Best (in his words). He met a lot of Firsts, he met a lot of angels who would eventually become Firsts, and he idolized one First in particular, and from working with them, he learned a lot about life, the universe, and how to make demons wish they had never been born.

Cut to the present and the times, they are a'changin'. Weapons are snazzier, demons are bolder, and sometimes it takes an army. That's where Vincent Sterling comes in. To most of the world, he's a freelance mercenary who only takes down very specific targets, but to the angels he deals with, he's Rambo with wings. He has teams stationed on various continents and his personal assistant also happens to be a weapons dealer. He's got connections and if you need a demon out of the picture? Vincent's on the case.

Currently, he's been on his own, hunting throughout the US, taking down demons left and right, biding his time until he sink his chops into something really good... And that's what brings him to Chicago, home of the Rift and a demon hotspot that most Archangels would kill to be on top of.
